Jointly established by Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and the University of South Florida (USF) Health Morsani College of Medicine, the Tampa Medical & Research District (TMRD) Advisory Committee is a strategic body composed of a diverse cross-section of chief executive officers, community and governmental partners, practitioners and key opinion leaders in the healthcare, life sciences, education, technology, energy and real estate sectors.

Bringing together top talent, resources, capital and cutting-edge facilities, the Advisory Committee ensures that breakthroughs in healthcare and life sciences emerge from a well-organized, economically and culturally supported hub where innovation thrives and transformative solutions are born. Essentially, the Advisory Committee serves as the “connective tissue” of the TMRD, enabling a vibrant and dynamic ecosystem and fostering collaboration across the medical, educational, research, policy and biotech sectors.

Guiding the development and expansion of the TMRD, the Advisory Committee ensures that Tampa maintains its status as a globally recognized destination for world-class clinical care, healthcare innovation, academic excellence, medical research and biotechnology. Additionally, the Advisory Committee advocates for infrastructure improvements and policy support to create a thriving environment for medical advancements, continually improving patient care and outcomes in Tampa.
